Victoria state kiteboard race, got 4th place (me in the back of pic) out of 60 kiters - 12 km downwind race. Pretty exhausting, and the 3rd place guy just nipped inside at the last second, that's him on the red kite.

All good into the new year here in Melbourne, and it's starting with a charge.

Ruben arrived yesterday - with a smashed foot from a bad landing (on a rock) whilst kitesurfing (kiteloop jump gone wrong) in South Africa. Interesting stat: exactly one year ago minus one day, we were at the hospital in Perth for another one of Ruben's foot injuries!

We went to the hospital today, and luckily the doc and xray results showed no broken bones, only bruising. So healing should be pretty quick.

Ashleigh arrives tonight, staying for 5 days, should be fun the 3 of us - like the old times.

And this weekend, there's a state kitesurfing competition which I'm going to enter: Saturday downwind race from Hampton to St Kilda where I live, then Sunday "Best Trick" contest.
